The red thing is nothing but crushed deep fried titbits of the besan batter that falls along when you drop the wadas for deep frying.... the titbits are removed, crushed, eventually they add coconut power, red chilli powder, and salt to it..... it is usually applied in the vadapau bun before putting the vada in the bun.... in Pune, and Mumbai, they use it generously instead of using the regular chutneys....</description>
